10 Questions

5 Auto-Fail rules (any hit = disqualified) · 5 Quality criteria (10 points each)

1
Auto-Fail #1

Does this bot require withdrawal permission on your exchange API key?

Why this question matters

An AI trading bot only needs trading permissions, never withdrawal. Any bot that requests withdrawal access means the operator (or anyone who steals their database) can move your money out directly. There is no legitimate reason a trading bot needs this.

2
Auto-Fail #2

Does it require you to deposit funds into the bot's own wallet (not your own Binance / OKX / Bybit / Bitget account)?

Why this question matters

Custodial model = FTX failure mode. Even if the operator is fully compliant today, if they go bankrupt or disappear tomorrow you still can't get your money back. Non-custodial = funds stay on your own exchange, the bot only places API trades, withdrawals are 100% under your control.

3
Auto-Fail #3

Can you independently verify each bot trade in your own exchange's order history?

Why this question matters

If performance only shows up in the bot's own dashboard, that dashboard can fabricate any number. The trustable form: every trade appears in your Binance/OKX backend with matching timestamps and prices.

4
Auto-Fail #4

Does the bot trade on at least one of: Binance / OKX / Bybit / Bitget / Coinbase / Kraken?

Why this question matters

Bots running purely on "internal broker" or "OTC matching" can't have their prices or fills externally verified — effectively an internal ledger. Connecting to public exchanges = prices can be checked against TradingView at any time.

5
Auto-Fail #5

Is there any publicly accessible (no-login) page showing platform-level live data? (Profit leaderboard, total volume, active user count.)

Why this question matters

A fully black-box product = no external audit possible. Even a single public leaderboard page is better than zero — it's the minimum signal that the product accepts external scrutiny.

6
Quality 1

Is pricing (fees / profit-share / point-card costs) fully published with no surprise charges?

Why this question matters

Common forms of hidden charges: FX spread, forced upgrades, slippage capture, "auto-renew" subscription traps. Trustable products show pricing on a dedicated page with no login required.

7
Quality 2

Has it operated 3+ years with no major reported security incident?

Why this question matters

Most new crypto bots don't survive 18 months. Years of operation + a clean incident record is the industry-filtered minimum baseline. Note: 3Commas had a 2022 API-key compromise event; records like this should be publicly traceable.

8
Quality 3

Does it have platform-level circuit breakers? (Asset Guard / Equity Guard / total stop-loss — not just per-bot stop-loss.)

Why this question matters

In black-swan conditions, per-bot stop-losses often slip past their trigger. A platform-level breaker = when account-wide drawdown crosses a threshold, all bots stop and positions close — limiting extreme losses. 3Commas / Bitsgap / Cryptohopper all lack this.

9
Quality 4

Does it offer UI + customer support in your native language?

Why this question matters

Machine-translated UI ≠ proper localization. Real localization = you can write a support ticket in your language and get a reply in your language. 3Commas has machine-translated UI but English-only support; Bitsgap / Cryptohopper / Pionex don't even offer translation.

10
Quality 5

Can a new user start with default settings without learning quantitative trading?

Why this question matters

Platforms that require "learn strategies + tune parameters + follow signal providers" are fundamentally tools for experienced quants — not turnkey products. A real AI trading system should be "connect API → pick default → it runs."
