Next: Bind Bybit Fast APIFrequently Asked Questions
What is two-factor authentication (2FA) and why is it important?
Two-factor authentication adds a second layer of security beyond your password. Even if someone obtains your login credentials, they cannot access your account without the time-based code from your authenticator app. For cryptocurrency accounts holding real assets, 2FA is essential protection against unauthorized access.
Why should I enable Google Authenticator on Bybit?
Enabling Google Authenticator on Bybit is required before you can bind your account to CoinTech2u via Fast API. It also protects your account from unauthorized logins, withdrawal attempts, and API changes. Bybit strongly recommends 2FA for all users handling cryptocurrency assets.
What should I do if I lose my phone with Google Authenticator?
If you lose your phone, you can recover access using the secret backup key you saved during setup. Install Google Authenticator on a new device and enter the backup key to restore your codes. If you did not save the key, contact Bybit support with your identity documents to reset 2FA.
Can I use alternative authenticator apps instead of Google Authenticator?
Yes, you can use alternative TOTP-compatible authenticator apps such as Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, or 1Password. The setup process is the same — paste the secret key into your preferred app. However, Google Authenticator is the most widely tested option with Bybit.
